“Lou exceeded my expectations from the months leading up to our wedding until the very last song was played. The minute I talked with him on the phone the first time I knew he was the perfect DJ for us. He answered my emails within minutes, had suggestions for us on how to make the night run smoothly, and was able to put together a great combination of music based on both of our tastes. I was pretty picky about the music I wanted played and what I wanted as far as a DJ goes-i just wanted someone who let the music speak for itself and he went above and beyond. He mixed songs perfectly and people were on the dance floor from the first song until the very last and I’m still getting compliments on the music! We told Lou we wanted everyone dancing all night and that’s what we got. The cocktail hour and dinner music was also perfection. When I was able to step back and listen to what song was playing, it was always something that we love and it felt so magical. I also didn’t have a wedding coordinator and right before the ceremony I started to worry about timing and who walks out when, he stepped in and reassured me that he had it under control. I can not recommend him enough!!! Thank you, Lou! You are amazing!”Mikhalia & Frank
At first I honestly thought that mother nature was not going to cooperate with us since it started to rain as I was driving to The Would. But as soon as I pulled in the rain let up, and with the exception of a couple light sprinkles, the rains held till after everyone parted ways.
The ceremony was held in the pavilion to which the bridal party and Mikhaila came down to Badly Drawn Boy’s I Love N Y E. Afterwards everyone enjoyed Indie Pop & Folk Rock sounds for the cocktail hour and diner music including Ray LaMontagne, City And Colour, and Mumford & Sons.
During the Father/Daughter dance we all had a surprise for Mikhaila with a video montage of photos that Frank’s mom, her close friend Annette, and I put together. While Frank was in on the mission I don’t think he was quite aware that he would get a montage of his own.
Dancing kicked off with a bang. This one was especially fun given that I was able to incorporate my two most favorite genres, old school Hip-Hop and R&B! It was truly a night of great music.
I want to thank Mikhaila and Frank for inviting me to perform on their most special day and extra thanks to the crew of Arius Photography for helping out. Many times the DJ and Photographers become de facto coordinators for these events and their professionalism and quality of their work is beyond reproach.
And instead of the Sample of the Sounds, I am posting both my dance sets (broken up by the cake cutting). It was seriously that much fun!
