“Lou was fantastic. He was super helpful leading up to the wedding and was great. He played during our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and right into dancing. He helped with the pacing of the night, took requests well and we ended up keeping him nearly 2 hours later than we had scheduled because people were dancing so hard. He stayed late even though he said he had an engagement the next day. We really appreciated it and had a wonderful wedding, due largely in part to Lou!”Jenni & Nick
This wedding was certainly a special one. From the upscale BBQ style offerings from Up In Smoke at a local private residence in Stone Ridge NY to the crazy dance segment that ran a number of hours of overtime, this wedding was one for the books. The day started off with a couple clouds in the ice blue sky and nearly perfect temperatures for an August wedding. Guests gathered around for a jazzy and crooner-styled music and then stood up in a beautiful and intimate ceremony by a little creek on the property. Everyone then moved over towards the cocktail hour and dinner where a mix of classic rock and roll and some soulful sounds of the 50s and 60s filled the air which acted in concert with the scrumptious smells from the BBQ that was being prepared.
Dinner arrived and guests were greeted with a slide show presentation and a surprised spoken word “initiation” into the family. But where things went bonkers was the dance segment. Things were planned to end at 10pm but Nick had already planned to go till 11pm. But the energy was strong and everyone ready to keep on dancing we went till past 1:30am before the final song was played. In total 3.5 hours of OT from the original end time. It was seriously off the hook and was a night to remember. I want to thank Jenni @ Nick for allowing me into their lives on their very special day. It was an honor to be their DJ.
